On Friday, prices of petrol hiked by 19 paise and diesel went up by 29 paise. After the hike, price of both the fuel in Delhi are at 93.04 per litre for petrol and diesel is priced at Rs. 83.8

 So far in this month, the auto fuel prices have been hiked 10 times after oil marketing companies (OMCs) resumed their price revisions ending an 18-day hiatus that coincided with the assembly elections in key states.

Fuel prices in India differ from state to state depending on the local taxation (VAT) and freight charges. Apart from this, the central government charges an excise duty on auto fuels.

For past few days, the rates have been static and now again have risen to just close to breaching Rs. 100 per litre price in Mumbai. Last week Bhopal became the first state capital to have petrol hit the three-figure mark and now Mumbai too seems headed in that direction.

Meanwhile, in commodity make, Crude oil prices pared some of previous losses on Friday but prices are set to report the biggest weekly loss since March. Crude oil prices seen sell-off on higher inflation worries and deemed demand outlook due to rising virus cases in Asia. Crude oil prices are trading lower as traders and investor are weighing progress over Iran nuclear talks.
