New Delhi: On Monday, Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged in Delhi. The petrol price in Delhi stood at Rs 72.86 a litre while diesel was at Rs 66.09, no change compared with yesterday’s price. It is worth noting that the retail fuel prices in Delhi are the cheapest among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes. However, state-owned oil marketing companies slashed the retail prices of petrol and diesel on Monday across other major cities of the country. Petrol is being retailed at Rs 74.88 per litre in Kolkata, down 5 paise compared with yesterday’s price of Rs 74.93 a litre while diesel costs Rs 67.83 a litre, 9 paise less than Sunday's rate.

In term of Metro cities pricing, in Mumbai, the retail prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 78.43 (5 paise down) a litre and Rs 69.17 (10 paise decrease) a litre respectively, according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website. Similarly, citizens in Chennai have to shell out Rs 75.62 for a litre of petrol, a 5 paise drop compared with Sunday's price while diesel retailed at Rs 69.78 per litre as against Rs 69.88 a litre yesterday. In Noida and Gurugram, petrol stood at Rs 72.20 per litre and Rs 72.74, respectively a 4 paise decrease compared with Sunday's price while diesel was at Rs 65.21 per litre and Rs 65.32 a litre, respectively, an eight paise drop compared with yesterday's rates.
Here it is to be noted that ,On Monday, in the international oil market, crude prices went up due to concerns about supplies offset worries of a slowing global economy. International Brent crude oil futures were trading at USD 68.01 per barrel, up 43 cents, or 0.6 per cent, from their last close.
