Meghalaya Chief Minister's Home Attacked; curfew imposed, mobile internet suspended

Shillong: On Independence Day in Meghalaya, miscreants hurled petrol bombs at cm Conrad Sangma residence. The miscreants carried out the attack on the CM's residence on Sunday night. Police informed that the incident took place at 10 pm. He said the miscreants riding the vehicle threw two bottles full of petrol into the premises of CM residence located in the third mile of Upper Shillong. He then fled. However, the buzz was that there were no casualties in the incident. The whole matter is under investigation.

According to police, two bottles of petrol were thrown into the CM's house. One bottle was thrown at the back of the accommodation and the other bottle was thrown into the front of the complex. Meanwhile, a curfew has been imposed in the vicinity of Shillong in the wake of the violence. With this, the mobile service has been discontinued. Meghalaya's Home Minister Lakhmen Rinbui has resigned on Independence Day. Lahkmen Rymbui's move comes after violence erupted in Shillong after police shot a former militant.

Lahkmen Rymbui has demanded a judicial inquiry into the case. Rinbui has demanded a judicial inquiry into the shooting of The Banned Hynavtrap National Liberation Council self-styled general secretary, Cherylfield Thangkhiu, who surrendered from the CM.
