However, diesel has become costlier 5 times and cheaper once. Earlier, petrol and diesel prices had increased 16 times in the months of June and May also.

The most expensive petrol and diesel across the country are being received at Ganganagar in Rajasthan and Anuppur in Madhya Pradesh. In Ganganagar, petrol is being priced at Rs 113.21 and diesel at Rs 103.15 today. Petrol price in Anuppur is at Rs 112.78 and diesel at Rs 101.15 per litre today.

The price of petrol has gone up to Rs.100 per litre or above in 17 states of the country. These states are Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Kerala, Punjab, Sikkim, Puducherry, Delhi and West Bengal. Bhopal was the first capital of any state where petrol prices crossed Rs 100.
