Today, government oil companies have not made any changes in the price of petrol and diesel. Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi are like puzzles. On July 30, the Delhi government had cut the price of diesel by Rs 8.36, due to which the price of diesel in Delhi was reduced to Rs 73.56 per liter in the market.

The price of petrol in Delhi today is Rs 80.43 per liter. The price of diesel is Rs 73.56 per liter. According to information received from the IOCL website, the price of one liter of petrol in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata is Rs 87.19, 83.63, and 82.10 per liter respectively. Talking about diesel, then the price in these metros is Rs 80.11,78.86 and Rs 77.04 respectively.

Price changes at 6 o'clock every day
There is a change in the price of petrol and diesel every day at 6 am. New rates apply from 6 am onwards. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its rate almost doubles. Petrol and diesel prices change every day depending on what the prices of crude are in the international market along with the foreign exchange rate. On the basis of these standards, the oil companies do the work of fixing the price of petrol and diesel every day. The dealers are the people running the petrol pumps. It sells petrol at retail prices after adding taxes and its own margins to the consumers.
