Oil marketing companies have released the price of petrol and diesel today (Saturday). State-owned oil companies today mean that even on September 18, the prices of both petrol and diesel fuels have not changed. This is the 13th consecutive day when the prices of auto fuel petrol and diesel are stable. However, petrol and diesel prices are still at record levels across the country. It has been decided not to bring petrol and diesel under the purview of GST at present. This may lead to an increase in retail prices of petrol and diesel in the country after the rise in crude oil prices in the international market.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, the country's largest fuel retailer, petrol prices remain at Rs 101.19 and diesel at Rs 88.62 per litre for the 13th consecutive day in the national capital. Coming to major metros (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai), Mumbai has the highest fuel price. In Mumbai, petrol is retained at Rs 107.26 per litre while diesel at Rs 96.19 per litre. Due to VAT, the prices of petrol and diesel vary in all the states.

Oil marketing companies fix the price of petrol and diesel daily after reviewing the prices. Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum Oil Companies update the prices of petrol and diesel in various cities every morning.
