New Delhi: Today means on August 19, 2021, oil marketing companies have cut diesel prices for the second consecutive day. Even today diesel has become cheaper by 20 paise per litre. Diesel had also fallen by 20 paise per litre on Wednesday. However, there has been no change in petrol prices. Petrol prices have been stable for nearly 33 days. Earlier petrol became costlier by 35 paise per litre on July 17. Meanwhile, diesel was last costlier by 15 paise per litre on July 15. Since then, the price of retail fuel had been stable, which was expected to cut prices. However, when questioned on the reduction in petrol and diesel excise duty this week, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that the government is not in a state of cutting as it is burdened with the oil bonds of the previous government.
