At the international level, the price of crude oil has crossed $93 a barrel. But there has been no change in petrol and diesel prices in India for more than three months. According to experts, the stability in petrol-diesel prices in the Indian market is not going to last long. After the upcoming assembly elections in five states, including UP, the prices of petrol and diesel in the country may increase drastically. Petrol and diesel prices are expected to rise sharply in March. According to the latest update by Indian Petroleum Marketing Company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country even on Saturday, February 19. The price of petrol at Indian Oil's pump in the national capital Delhi today stood at Rs 95.41 per litre while that of diesel stood at Rs 86.67 per litre on February 19, 2022.
