Petrol-diesel prices increases after 50 days, Know today's rate

New Delhi: There was some relaxation in Lockdown 3.0, there was some relaxation on the movement, and the oil companies also increased the prices of petrol and diesel. After 50 days, on May 5, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased in Delhi and Chennai. Petrol prices in Delhi went up by Rs 1.67 to Rs 71.26 and diesel by Rs 7.10 to Rs 69.39 per liter.

Delhi government has decided to increase VAT on petroleum products. In Delhi, VAT has been increased by 27% on petrol and 30% on diesel. In Chennai, petrol went to Rs 75.54 and diesel to Rs 68.22. Petrol is being sold in Mumbai at Rs 76.31 and diesel at Rs 66.21 per liter . It is noteworthy that the total consumption of petrol and diesel has fallen by about 70% in April 2020 as compared to the month of April last year. The third phase of lockdown has been relaxed, so demand may increase.

Flights will start as soon as restrictions are lifted, airport administration completes preparations

The government and oil companies are hopeful that the easing of the lockdown in May will also have an impact on fuel sales. The lockdown has been extended till May 17 and in its third phase, the government has allowed movement of some work in areas falling in the Green Zone and Orange Zone.
