New Delhi: The price of both petrol and diesel has been cut today by the state oil companies. Talking about petrol, then its prices have fallen from 13 to 15 paise. Talking about diesel, its price has come down by 18 to 20 paise. Earlier on July 30, the Kejriwal government of Delhi had cut the price of diesel by Rs 8.36, due to which the price of diesel in the capital rose to Rs 73.56 per liter in the market.
If we talk today, petrol is being sold in Delhi at 81.40 per liter and diesel at 72.37 per liter. The price of petrol in Mumbai is 88.07 per liter and diesel is 78.85 per liter. In Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, the price of petrol is 82.92 per liter and diesel is 75.87 per liter. Petrol is getting one liter in Chennai for Rs 84.44, while diesel is priced at Rs 77.73 per liter.
Let us tell you that petrol and diesel prices are revised at six in the morning. The new rates are applicable from 6 o'clock in the morning. After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles. Petrol and diesel prices change every day, depending on what the crude prices are in the global market with foreign exchange rates.
