Inflation hit the common man, petrol and diesel prices increased for 13th consecutive day

Mumbai: Petrol and diesel prices have been increased for the 13th consecutive day on Friday. At the same time, the price of crude oil in the international market is also rising. Benchmark crude oil Brent crude has reached $ 42 per barrel. The increase in the prices of crude oil may continue to increase the prices of petrol and diesel even in the coming days, as India relies mainly on imports for its oil requirements.

Oil marketing companies on Friday increased the prices of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai by 56 paise, 54 paise, 55 paise, 50 paise per liter respectively. Diesel prices have been increased by 63 paisa, 57 paisa, 60 paisa and 54 paisa per liter in the four metros respectively. According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have increased to Rs 78.37, Rs 80.13, Rs 85.21 and Rs 81.82 per liter respectively. The price of diesel has also increased to Rs 77.06, Rs 72.53, Rs 75.53 and Rs 74.77 per liter respectively in the four metros. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 7.11 per liter in Delhi for 13 consecutive days and diesel prices have increased by Rs 7.69 per liter.

On the international futures market, the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), on Friday, August delivery Brent crude futures contract was trading 0.70 per cent higher at $ 41.80 per barrel, compared with the previous session, when Brent price jumped to $ 42.01 per barrel.
