New Delhi: For the second day in a row, state-made oil companies have hiked petrol diesel prices. Petrol prices have now reached the highest level in most of the cities after this hike. Petrol price increased by 25 paise a litre in the country's capital today, while diesel prices also hiked by 25 paise a litre. Petrol rose to a record level of Rs 86.35 and diesel at Rs 76.48 per litre.
Petrol diesel prices have been rising steadily since the beginning of the new year. Due to which both fuel prices reached record levels. Petrol is priced at Rs 86.35 per litre in Delhi and Rs 76.48 per litre for diesel. Petrol is being sold at Rs 92.86 and diesel at Rs 83.30 per litre in Mumbai. Petrol is available at Rs 87.69 and diesel at Rs 80.08 per litre in Kolkata. In Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 88.82 and diesel at Rs 81.71 per litre.
Petrol and diesel prices change at 6 am every day. The new rates come into effect from 6 am onwards. Petrol-diesel prices are almost doubled after adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things. The prices of petrol and diesel change daily depending on what the prices of crude oil in the international market are with foreign exchange rates.
