New Delhi: Petrol prices have been increased for the second consecutive day on Friday. Petrol in the national capital Delhi has become costlier by 21 paise per litre for two consecutive days, while the price of petrol in Delhi has increased by Rs 1.51 per litre since August 16. Oil marketing companies on Friday increased petrol prices by 11 paise, while Kolkata and Mumbai increased by 10 paise and Chennai by nine paise per litre.

According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have increased to Rs 81.94, Rs 83.43, Rs 88.58 and Rs 84.91 per litre respectively. Diesel prices in the four metros have also remained steady at Rs 73.56, Rs 77.06, Rs 80.11 and Rs 78.86 per litre respectively. Crude oil prices in the global market remain limited.

Brent crude's November delivery contract on the international futures market InterContinental Exchange (ICE) was trading at $ 45.61 a barrel, up 0.02 percent from the previous session. While US light crude West Texas Intermediate (WTI) October delivery futures contract was trading marginally lower by 0.07 percent at $ 43.01 a barrel from the previous session.
