New Delhi: The continued rise in petrol and diesel prices is not going to stop. State-owned oil companies have hiked petrol and diesel prices for the second consecutive day on Monday. Petrol price has been hiked by 28 paise per litre and diesel by 27 paise per litre on June 7 today.

Petrol has reached Rs 95.31 per litre and diesel Rs 86.22 per litre in the national capital. The price of petrol had gone up by 27 paise per litre and diesel by 29 paise per litre a day earlier on Sunday. Talking about cities other than Delhi, petrol is being sold in Mumbai at Rs 101.52 and diesel at Rs 93.98 today. Similarly, the price of petrol in Chennai has gone up to Rs 96.71 and diesel to Rs 90.92 per litre.

Petrol is being sold at Rs 95.28 and diesel at Rs 89.07 in Kolkata. Tell me, since last March, there was a stir in five states of the country for assembly elections. Due to which the prices of petrol and diesel did not go up even after crude oil became costlier. However, petrol and diesel prices had come down in four instalments after crude oil was cheaper.
