The spread of Coronavirus has created an atmosphere of fear everywhere. To avoid this, a lockdown of 21 days has been imposed in the country. Due to this, the demand for petrol and diesel has been low, due to which there has been a decline in the sale of petrol and diesel in India in March. Petrol sales declined by 15.5 percent in March, while the demand for diesel has seen a decline of 24 percent. In addition, the sale of aviation turbine fuel has declined by 31 percent. In fact, after the stoppage of the flight, most of the vehicles have stopped traveling due to the closure of business.

Let us tell you that in March 2019, petrol sales fell by more than 18 lakh million tons, which was 22 lakh tons in the month of March last year. Demand for the country's most consumed fuel diesel fell by 24.2 percent in March. It increased to 4.8 million tonnes in March this year, from 6.34 million tonnes in March 2019.

ATF sales fell from 2.185 million tonnes in the previous year to 2.25 million tonnes. The only fuel has been an increase in LPG sales. Because after the announcement of the lockdown many people started stocking it. LPG sales rose 3.1 per cent to 2.25 million tonnes in March, from 2.185 million tonnes in the same month last year. Industry officials have said that fuel consumption is likely to continue in April, as the lockdown will last until the middle of the month and there are indications that the ban will continue even after the lockdown is lifted. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a lockdown of 21 days from March 25, while continuing essential services.
