Petrol price decreases, diesel remains unchanged on Saturday

New Delhi: The price of petrol is lashed by 6-7 paise diesel prices unchanged across four major cities in the India. Petrol is priced at Rs 71.03 a litre, 7 paise less than yesterday’s rate of 71.10 per litre In Delhi. Diesel in the national capital is unchanged at Rs 65.9.

Talking about fuel price in Mumbai, it was retailing at Rs 76.64 per litre (7 paise decrease) for a litre while diesel in economic capital remains unchanged Rs 69.11 per litre. Similarly, in Chennai, the retail prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 73.73 (7 paise drop) a litre and Rs 69.73 (unchanged) per litre respectively.

Diesel rose by 5 paise in Delhi, petrol remained steady at Rs. 71.18/litre

Petrol became 6 paise cheaper today and is selling at Rs 73.11 per litre in Kolkata. There is no change in diesel against Friday's rates. Worth mentioning here is that petrol and diesel rates in India are revised on a daily basis at 06:00 a.m. every day.

The fuel price is dependent on the global crude oil prices, rupee to US dollar exchange rate, global cues, fuel demand, etc. Fuel price includes excise duty, value-added tax (VAT) and dealer commission. VAT varies from state to state. Therefore, when international crude oil prices gain, prices in India also increases.
