Petrol diesel prices continue to fall, know today's rates

NEW DELHI: Price of petrol and diesel has remained stable for the second consecutive day today, amid a steady rise in international crude oil prices. Yes, petrol fell for six consecutive days before Wednesday and diesel fell for two days, and you may have noticed that there was a decline of 13 paise per litre in petrol and 7 paise a litre in diesel on Tuesday in Delhi. In Delhi, petrol rates were seen at an earlier level of Rs 72.86 a litre on Thursday morning and diesel remained at Rs 66.00.

Petrol rates in the metro city - At present, petrol prices in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai fell by 6 paise a litre, while diesel prices remained unchanged. On Thursday morning, petrol in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai reached Rs 75.44, Rs 78.42 and Rs 75.61 per litre, respectively. At the same time, diesel prices remained at Rs 68.19, Rs 69.17 and Rs 69.72 per litre, respectively.

On July 1, 2019, the price of petrol in Delhi was Rs 70.44 and the price of diesel was Rs 64.27 per litre. In the General Budget presented on July 5, excise duty and Cess on petrol and diesel were imposed and the price of both had gone up. At the international level, WTI crude fell to $57.83 a barrel and Brent crude reached $64.29 a barrel.
