Petrol and diesel prices have not changed for the tenth consecutive day. Prices remain the same in all metros, including the country's capital. The price of 1 litre of petrol in the capital Delhi is Rs 101.84 and diesel is Rs 89.87. Meanwhile, crude oil prices in the international market have again crossed $74. Crude oil prices have increased by up to 45 per cent since January this year.
The same has been witnessing an increase in petrol and diesel prices since May. Petrol has become costlier by around Rs 11.52 in 42 days. From May to July, fuel prices have increased intermittently. With this, petrol prices have crossed Rs 100 in about 19 states across the country. The list includes Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. In addition, petrol has already crossed the Rs 100 per litre mark in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru in metropolitan cities.
The same petrol diesel prices are expected to come down soon. After a meeting with the OPEC Group on Sunday, it is expected that petrol may become cheaper soon. The meeting has given full approval, under which five OPEC and non-OPEC countries will increase crude oil production from August. On the other hand, crude oil prices have come down in the international market.
