Petrol-diesel prices today (January 05, 2022) have been released by oil companies. Oil marketing companies have not changed the prices of petro and diesel even today (Wednesday). At the national level, the prices of vehicle fuel petrol and diesel have been stable for two months. According to the latest update from Indian Petroleum Marketing Company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), petrol in Delhi rests at Rs 95.41 and diesel at Rs 86.67 per litre on January 05.
The same is the cheapest petrol in India being sold in Port Blair. Where petrol is Rs 82.96 and diesel is Rs 77.13 per litre. On the other hand, petrol and diesel are the cheapest in Delhi when it comes to metros. Mumbai has the highest prices of both petrol and diesel in metropolitan cities. Petrol is selling across Rs 100 per litre in other major metros besides Delhi. State that the Central Government had on November 3 reduced excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 10. After that, all the states of the country also reduced VAT on petrol. Fuel prices have remained stable ever since. However, petrol is still selling above Rs 100 in many states including Bihar, Rajasthan.
