Bhopal: Petrol has become cheaper by Rs 9 and a half and diesel by Rs 7 per liter in Madhya Pradesh due to reduction in excise duty by the central government. In this way the public has got relief from inflation. On the other hand, the operators of petrol pumps have started expressing their protest. This protest is about the reduction in commission. Due to this, petrol pumps across the state will be closed for 2 hours from 7 pm to 9 pm on 25 May. Still, if the commission is not increased, then an indefinite strike will be started. The Madhya Pradesh Petroleum Dealers Association has also given an ultimatum to the Executive Director of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. Association President Ajay Singh said that the petrol pump dealers of Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum have placed their demands in front of the State Level Co-ordinator.

Know what to ask

* On 4-5 November 2021, the central government had reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 10 and on diesel by Rs 15 per liter. At the same time, on 22 May 2022, Rs 9.50 was reduced on petrol and Rs 7 on diesel. Happy to reduce the price, but the dealer is incurring a loss of Rs 12 to 15 lakh due to the deduction of excise duty because the dealers deposit the excise duty in advance on the purchase of petrol and diesel. Now it should be refunded.
Also, when petrol used to get 60 rupees and diesel 50 rupees per liter, then the commission used to be received, is now getting the same. Whereas fuel prices have doubled. This commission should be increased.
* Commission fixed at 5% of the selling price. The new rates will be applicable from the year 2017.

In this regard, the petrol pump dealers of the state have given an ultimatum for two days i.e. till May 25. If no decision is taken regarding the commission hike, then on May 25, from 7 pm to 9 pm, the entire state will go on strike by keeping the petrol pumps closed. This will be followed by an indefinite strike.
