The Drugmaker Pfizer expects to double its rollout of coronavirus vaccines to 10 million a week over the next two weeks.
The company's announcement came as US President Joe Biden pledged enough supply of doses to immunize all Americans by July.Bourla told a briefing at drug maker's plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan, which Biden toured on Friday,  "In next couple weeks, supply will increase from 5 million to 10 million doses per week."

Addressing media and other visitors to the plant the US president said his administration was on track with its goal to vaccinate 100 million Americans in its first 100 days, and also supply  600 million doses by July 29. Biden said that the US will have enough vaccine for the public by end of July.

Earlier on Friday, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky said the United States has vaccinated 41 million Americans since December 14, and save for a few who experienced some common after-effects, there had been no reason for concern.

Meanwhile, 251 candidate vaccines are still being developed worldwide -- 70 of them in clinical trials -- in countries including Germany, China, Russia, Britain, and the United States.
