Amid the outbreak of Coronavirus, the indigenous pharmaceutical industry is currently producing enough to meet the demand for hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) along with essential medicines. In the industrial clusters manufacturing pharmaceuticals in different parts of the country, there are many difficulties facing the pharma industry. During video conferencing, the central government negotiated with the respective states and assured to resolve the problems. Medicines are supplied to most parts of the country from these major places.

The industry has requested to give permission to start production in allied industries of big pharmaceutical companies, which the government has approved and started taking immediate action. Organizations like IPA, IDMA, OPPI, BDMA, AIMED, Pharmacyl, CII, FICCI and All India Association of Chemists and Druggists were among the participants.
