Recently in a shocking accident in Assam's Barpeta a picnic party was attacked by an angry crowd late Monday evening, in a dramatic episode. A mob of about 20 persons is accused of stopping a bus carrying a picnic party and assaulting them.

The incident occurred in the Assam district of Barpeta, at a place named Luphuria. The criminals are from Sintolu, a neighbouring community.

Some members of the picnic party are said to have been injured as a result of the mob's onslaught. Meanwhile, a police report has been filed in connection with the incident at the Barpeta Sadar police station.
