Madras High Court rejected the PIL to grant 'Bharat Ratna' to 'Jayalalithaa'

Today, The Public Interest Litigation filed in seeking the direction of centre to announce the name of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa for Bharat Ratna has been dismissed by the Madras High Court.

The PIL was filed by K K Ramesh who is the Managing Trustee of Tamil Nadu centre for public interest litigation. The bench of Chief justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M Sundar rejected the PIL.

On December 19, the Tamil Nadu chief minister O. Panneerselvam has asked PM Narendra Modi to grant Bharat Ratna to late Jayalalithaa.
