Dolphins are often seen playing with humans, which is why they are considered one of the most beloved aquatic animals. However, the species we are going to talk about today is different from the rest. While all dolphins are considered beautiful, the pink dolphin stands out for its unique characteristics. Also known as the Amazon Pink River Dolphin, Boto, or Bufeo, this species is found only in fresh water.

Unlike other dolphins, the pink river dolphin is shy and prefers to be alone. However, they are known to play curiously with local children and do not exhibit aggressive behavior. Scientists believe that they have a special fondness for solitude. Considered one of the most intelligent dolphins, they can grow up to 2.7 meters in length and weigh up to 181 kilograms. Their lifespan is approximately 30 years.

Pink river dolphins are famous for their pink color, but they are not born with it. According to experts, they are born with a gray color that gradually turns pink as they age. Males are more pink than females, and they are also more agile. Their neck and spine are differently structured than those of other dolphins, allowing them to move their head at a 90-degree angle. This enables them to perform impressive acrobatic stunts.
