NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Industrial Township Ltd. (MITL) is hosting the 4th Investors' Roundtable Conference of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) in Mumbai today, October 10.. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is attending the meet.
The conference is expected to draw notable investors, as well as Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state Industries Minister Uday Samant, and a number of Consul Generals.
The conference will present the growth of forthcoming greenfield industrial cities in India that the NICDC has planned.
Four of these brand-new, smart industrial cities are currently being built in the Maharashtra districts of Aurangabad, Raigad, Satara, and Nagpur.
The conference aims to encourage fruitful dialogue among participants, thereby assisting in the discovery of different options for investor engagement.
The NICDC initiative, India's most ambitious infrastructure programme, is intended to construct, promote, and ease the establishment of new industrial cities as "smart cities" and to integrate next-generation technologies into all infrastructure sectors.
Currently, four such greenfield smart industrial cities are being developed in Maharashtra in the districts of Aurangabad, Raigad, Satara and Nagpur. The conference is intended to facilitate a fruitful discussion among stakeholders and thus help in identifying various collaboration opportunities for investors.
Maharashtra, the economic powerhouse of India, has been an ideal investment destination for investors around the world. The state has managed to keep up its position as India as the top Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) destination. In the last decade, Maharashtra has been a recipient of almost 28 percent of the cumulative FDI flowing into the country.
