Patna: After the announcement of PM Modi's plastic ban, all the departments of the government and the state governments have come into action. The Government of Bihar has taken a major step in this direction. Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Modi said that the Bihar Pollution Control Council has issued notices to more than 400 companies packaging plastic products and ordered collection of plastic waste from the sale site. He said, the government will take stern action against the companies which do not do so.

Inaugurating the two-day capacity addition programme on The Waste Management Rules, 2016, On Tuesday, Sushil Modi said that more than 400 companies which are packaging plastic scars on behalf of the Bihar Pollution Control Council have issued notices to the plastic waste collection from the sale site has been directed.

The Government will take strict action against the companies which do not do so. The Deputy CM has also issued a draft notification to ban all items like plastics and thermocols made of thermocol used in Bihar from 2nd October to make plastic free India. This will be done.

Sushil Modi said that 600 people have given their suggestions in this regard, including 236 suggestions from plastic product manufacturers and sellers. Modi said that an agreement has been reached between the Coca-Cola Company and Patna Municipal Corporation for the management of plastic packaging after a meeting called by the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change this month. Environmentalists are applauding the government's move.
