As per Hockey India's Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), players at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bangalore can go home if they wish, but will have to stay in the Quarantine for 14 days after their return. Hockey India has issued a SOP to provide a safe environment for the Kovid-19 epidemic to the team players who have qualified for the Olympics. These guidelines will have to be accepted along with the senior as well as junior national team. The objective of this SOP is to 'establish a safe training environment for Indian hockey teams, which will give them the opportunity to prepare their best for the Olympic Games (Senior Team) in 2021 and the Junior World Cup in 2021'.
According to the document, "In this SOP, it has been recommended to maintain the health and safety of players from outside to keep the SA campus free of corona virus." It has been mutually decided by the Government, Sports Authority of India and Hockey India that players and support staff can be allowed to leave the premises, but for this they have to follow strict rules of SOP.
It said in the document, 'Every player and member will get a chance to leave the Cy NSSC campus and return home from the camp. The Government of India, SAI and Hockey India will determine the duration of this holiday in consultation with their respective head coaches. According to this, 'Every player or associate member returning to the SAI center will be kept in strict segregation for two weeks'.
