Guwahati: Indian football coach Igor Stimac has selected 35 players for a training camp on Monday for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Oman. The Indian football team has found a more or less easy draw in the second round of the 2022 World Cup Asian Qualifiers, with teams from Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh in Group E. The Indian team will launch its campaign against Oman at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium in Guwahati on September 5.

They will then visit Qatar, where they will play the toughest match against the Asian champions on September 10. In the draw at the headquarters of the Asian Football Federation, 40 teams from Asia have been grouped into five teams. All the teams will play Round Robin matches starting on September 5 on each other's field. The group's eight winning teams and four best runners-up will play in the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifier and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup finals, which will take place in China.

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Amarinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh, Vishal Cath

Defenders: Rahul Bheke, Nishu Kumar, Pritam Kotal, Anas Idathadodika, Mesh Jingan, Anwar Ali (Junior), Narendra Gehlot, Meaningful Gollui, Adil Khan, Salam Ranjan Singh, Subashish Bose, Jerry Lalrinzula, Mandar Rao Desai.

Midfielders : Nikhil Poojari, Udanta Singh, Aniruddha Thapa, Reyner Fernandes, Vineet Rai, Sahal Abdul, Amarjeet Singh, Brandon Fernandes, Prannoy Haldar, Lalianjula Changte, Halichar Narjare, Ashik Kurunyan.

Forwards: Balwant Singh, Jobi Justin, Sunil Chhetri, Farooq Chaudhary, and Manveer Singh.
