New Delhi: Another petition challenging the declaration of the imposition of Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir has been filed in the Supreme Court. This petition has been filed on behalf of Jammu Kashmir People's Conference by its spokesperson Adnan Ashraf. The petition challenged the order to repeal Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and pass the Jammu Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019.

Earlier, on August 17, some former military officers and bureaucrats had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the decision to remove Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. In this petition, the petitioners challenged President Ram Nath Kovind's decision to abolish Article 370.

Among those who filed a petition against the government's decision in the court, Radha Kumar, former IAS officer Hyder Tayyab, former Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak, former Major General Ashok Kumar Mehta, Punjab cadre Former IAS officer Amitabh Pandey's name is included. Arjun Krishnan and Kaustubh Singh are the counsel for these petitioners.

On September 16, the Supreme Court will hear different petitions including the relaxation of movement in Jammu and Kashmir. The Supreme Court has taken this decision during the hearing on the petitions. A petitioner's counsel for Anuradha Bhasin told the court that the media was not being allowed to work in Jammu and Kashmir for the past one month. The bench was headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
