PM attends Rashtriya Rozgar Mela, distributes Job letters to 71,000 recruits

Today, via video conferencing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 71,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits. The Prime Minister also addressed these appointees on the occasion. 

In his address he highlighted; “The ports sector is developing and the  health sector is also becoming the best example of employment creation. Every infrastructure project is generating employment opportunities. Farm mechanisation has develoope in the Agriculture sector which has increased job opportunities in the rural area." “Till 2014 there have been 74 airports in India, now there are 148 airports. Becasue of the the increase in airports, new employment opportunities have also opened up,"  PM Modi said.

The appointees were present at 45 locations in various parts of the country which will be organised by different Ministries/ Departments. In this regard, Western Railway Rozgar Mela celebrations will be held in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Ratlam. Western Railway will distribute appointment letters to a total of 4360 freshly hired recruits. These appointments are divided into 559 Group C appointments and 3801 Level 1 appointments. 

The appointment letters for new hires to other government departments, organizations, and PSUs, including India Post, the Revenue Department, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, etc., will also be distributed in addition to those for those who have been appointed to Indian Railways. The dignitaries present at the venues will present these appointees with their appointment letters.

The Rozgar Mela is a step in the direction of fulfilling the prime minister's promise to give employment creation first priority. The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in additional employment generation and provide important chances to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.

The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join various positions/posts under Government of India like Train Manager, Station Master, Sr. commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Inspector, Sub Inspectors, Constable, Stenographer, Junior Accountant, Postal Assistant, Income Tax Inspector, Tax Assistant, Sr Draughtsman, JE/Supervisor, Assistant Professor, Teacher, Librarian, Nurse, Probationary Officers, PA, MTS, among others. The newly inducted appointees will also get an opportunity to teach themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, which is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various Government agencies.
