New Delhi: The Central government on Monday approved the construction of 16,488 houses in urban areas under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-U). The ministry issued a statement giving this information. The total number of houses sanctioned so far has reached more than 1.13 crore. State that under the PM Awas Yojana, the Central Government provides houses to homeless people as well as subsidies to those who buy houses or flats on loans.
The 54th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee of the Central Government was held. 13 states and Union Territories attended the meeting. The government has developed a mobile-based housing app to apply under PM Awas Yojana Grameen. It can be downloaded from Google's Play Store. After downloading, you'll need to create a login ID with the help of a mobile number.
1. The app will then send a one-time password (OTP) to your mobile number.
2. Fill in the information sought after logging in with it.
3. After applying for a house under PMAY G, the Central Government elects the beneficiaries.
4. The final list of beneficiaries is then put on the website of PMAY-G.
The benefit of PMAY was earlier only for the poorer sections. But, now the amount of home loans has been increased to bring the poor and middle class of urban areas under its ambit. Initially, the home loan amount in PMAY was Rs 3 to Rs 6 lakh, which was subsidized on interest, now it has been increased to Rs 18 lakh.
