NEW DELHI: Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that his government's focus was to improve the connectivity across India which was significant for ease of living and economic progress.

Modi tweeted in response to a statement made by Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister of civil aviation, citing the ongoing growth of domestic aircraft traffic: "Great sign. Our main goal is to significantly enhance connectivity in India, as it is crucial for "Ease of Living" and economic development."

On Monday, Civil aviation minister Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia talked about the recovery in the domestic aviation traffic which crossed the mark of four lakh on October 9. He has said, "Indian civil aviation has not only passed the 4-lakh daily passenger milestone but also attained the largest numbers ever since the pre-Covid 19 era, putting it on the road to full recovery! Well done," the Minister tweeted.

Along with the recovery of domestic air traffic, airline passenger load factor (PLF) has also seen a notable improvement. In comparison to nearly 80% a few weeks earlier, the majority of airlines reported occupancy or PLF in the range of 90 percent.

The restrictions put on domestic airfares starting on August 31 had already been repealed by the Civil Aviation Ministry. The decision to remove the limits was taken after analysis of daily demand and prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF).
