Initiated on December 1, 2018, the PM-KISAN scheme aims to support farmers in meeting their agricultural needs. Farmers holding land receive an annual amount of Rs 6,000 in their bank accounts, distributed in three equal installments over four months by the government.
Farmers owning cultivable land in their names are eligible for this scheme. However, institutional landholders, state and central government employees, pensioners receiving more than Rs 10,000 per month, and active or retired officers are not eligible for PM Kisan scheme benefits.
