Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Rs 20,000 crore under the 17th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Varanasi on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the government's initiative to empower nearly three crore women as 'Lakhpati didis'.
Union Agriculture Minister and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan provided insights into the progress of the PM-Kisan Scheme, stating that over Rs 3 lakh crore has already been transferred to the bank accounts of farmers.
"Today, PM Modi will transfer Rs 20,000 crore to the bank accounts of about 9.25 crore farmers with a single click. So far, about Rs 3.24 lakh crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of farmers," he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Varanasi.
