PM Modi and President Kovind pay tributes to Bharatiya Jana Sangh strongman- Nanaji Deshmukh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on the birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh strongman- Nanaji Deshmukh paid tributes and remembered his tireless efforts for the betterment of society.

PM Modi took Official Twitter handle and sad, “tributes to Nanaji Deshmukh on his Jayanti. He worked tirelessly towards upliftment of our villages and for the welfare of our hardworking farmers. His organisational skills were also greatly admired”.

In another Tweet, PM Modi wrote, “India remembers the great Loknayak JP on his Jayanti. His unflinching commitment to protect our democratic fabric will never be forgotten. We also remember his notable efforts towards India's freedom struggle and working for the welfare of the marginalized”.

Mean while President Ramnath Kovind also remembered Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan as tributing, “Remembering Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary. A freedom fighter and symbol of democracy, he inspired the nation to fight uncompromisingly to uphold civil liberties and individual dignity”.

Chandikadas Amritrao Deshmukh who is well known as Nanaji Deshmukh was a social activist from India. He worked in the fields of education, health, and rural self-reliance, and was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India. He was a leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and also a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Born on 11 October 1916, Hingoli, Nanaji Deshmukh was a stalwart of Bhartiya Janata Party.
