New Delhi:  PM Narendra Modi welcomes Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on his first State visit to India at the Hyderabad House ahead of the bilateral talks. Both leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks over Act East Policy.

PM Narendra Modi and Vietnamese President Quang held fruitful talks and discussed steps to further strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership in defense, security, trade and investment, atomic energy, agriculture, S&T, tourism, oil & gas, as well as regional and global issues.

 Inhis address PM Modi said that Vietnam has an important place in India's framework of Act East policy and India's relations with ASEAN.

 PM Narendra Modi said,” We have decided that we will enhance cooperation in defense production and explore opportunities in the transfer of technology. We will jointly work for an open, independent & prosperous Indo Pacific area where sovereignty and international law is respected“.

India-Vietnam exchanged three agreements on economic & trade cooperation, agricultural research, and nuclear energy partnership.

Following India –visit for three days, Earlier EAM Sushma Swaraj called on President of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang.

Discussion between both leaders focused on steps to further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership by expanding cooperation across all sectors Under Act East Policy.

Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang inspected the Guard of Honor after receiving the ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday.
