New Delhi: The festival of Bakrid is being celebrated across the country on Saturday amid Coronavirus epidemic. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, President Ramnath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the celebrities of the country have given best wishes. While explaining the importance of this festival in his message, the President has urged everyone to follow the guidelines for the prevention of corona epidemic.

PM Modi prayed that the spirit of brotherhood and kindness should increase further. In view of the Coronavirus, Eid-ul-Jaha prayers in other mosques including Delhi's Jama Masjid were performed with social distancing. In many places, people were urged to offer Namaz at their home. Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi recited Bakrid prayers at his home in Delhi.

On this occasion, President Ramnath Kovind tweeted that, "Eid Mubarak. The festival of Eid-ul-Azha symbolizes the spirit of brotherhood and sacrifice and inspires people to work for the interests of all. On this happy occasion, let us share our happiness with the needy and follow all the guidelines for the prevention of corona." PM Modi also tweeted and wrote, "Eid Mubarak! Greetings on Eid al-Adha. May this day inspire us to create a just, harmonious and inclusive society. May the spirit of brotherhood and compassion be furthered."
