On Tuesday, PM Narendra Modi, which is a biopic on the Prime Minister of Narendra Modi, got a green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts and they have apparently granted the ‘U’ certificate. As per the Times Now report, sources revealed that no “extraordinary” effort was made by the board to promote or stop the film.

Though the Omung Kumar directorial is passed without any cuts, the makers have been asked to make few minor changes before the release of the film. Talking about the controversies surrounding the movie, due to its subject and timing of the release, the makers have been facing the heat from the opposition. A Congress delegation which includes senior party leaders such as Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Kapil Sibal asked the Election Commission of India to put a stay on the movie's release.The movie is produced by Legend Global Studio and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and is all set to release on April 11. The release coincides with the start of the first phase of general elections' voting.
The Bombay and Delhi High Courts and the Supreme Court earlier refused to interfere in the releasing of the movie. Omung Kumar said in a statement: “The team and I were convinced of what we have made. It’s a piece of cinema and not propaganda and now the Censor Board has validated what we have been saying all along." The PM Modi biopic revolves around Modi’s story. Right from becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat to being the Prime Minister of India, the 2 hours 10 minutes long movie will showcase his journey.
