NEW DELHI: Amidst the rumors of an impending reshuffle ahead of the 2024 General Election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to preside over a meeting of his Council of Ministers today. This gathering marks the second time the Union Council of Ministers convenes, with the previous one taking place in January, just before the Union Budget presentation.
Sources suggest that the meeting, scheduled for today, is likely to be held at the newly constructed convention centre in Pragati Maidan. It is noteworthy that this venue is also slated to host the upcoming G20 summit in September.
The decision to convene this meeting follows a discussion held at the Prime Minister's residence last Wednesday, where senior BJP leaders gathered to deliberate on the party's strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Notable attendees included Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and other senior party figures. The meeting primarily focused on charting a course for the 2024 election, and the presence of JP Nadda lends weight to speculation about potential changes within the government and the BJP organization, both at the central and state levels. Prime Minister Modi's recent emphasis on the Uniform Civil Code during a rally in Bhopal has set a definitive tone for the BJP, indicating their commitment to their core ideological principles in the lead-up to the 2024 election.
