NEW DELHI:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Manik Saha on becoming the new Chief Minister of Tripura on Sunday.

Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet, "Shri @DrManikSaha2 has been sworn in as Tripura's Chief Minister. Best wishes for a successful stay. I am hopeful that he will bolster Tripura's development efforts, which began in 2018."

J.P. Nadda, the BJP's national president, also congratulated Saha. "Best congratulations to @DrManikSaha2 ji on his sworn-in as Tripura's Chief Minister. I am confident that Tripura will be eternally transformed and will reach new heights under the leadership of Hon. Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji and by following his vision "Nadda used Twitter.

Manik Saha, a dental surgeon-turned-politician and Tripura BJP President, was sworn in as the state's 12th Chief Minister on Sunday, following incumbent Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb's resignation on Saturday, May 14.
