Rahul was first greeted by PM Narendra Modi on his birthday. In a tweet at 8.23 am on Wednesday morning, the PM wished Rahul good health and longevity. After that, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated Rahul on his birthday at 8.55am.

At the same time, Smriti Irani, who defeated Rahul in Amethi, did not congratulate Rahul directly, but she retweeted PM Modi's tweet at 8.30 a.m. in which the Congress president was greeted with a birthday. By 10 a.m., the Twitter handle revealed that most of the BJP's top leaders had forgotten to wish Rahul Gandhi a Happy Birthday.
