PM Modi evaluates performance of key infrastructure projects

New Delhi [India], Nov 17 (NT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday evaluates the progress of major infrastructure projects including Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), housing, coal, and power.

The evaluation conference, which lasted for about two and a half hours, was concentrated by top officials from PMO, NITI Aayog and infrastructure Ministries.

In the track of the presentation ended by the CEO of NITI Aayog, it was noted that remarkable progress has been made in a number of areas.

"Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 81 percent of the aimed habitations numbering about 1.45 lakh have so far been associated," told the CEO.

The officials told that progress is being made towards linking all the remaining isolated habitations within a definite timeframe.

"Prime Minister Modi noticed that resources available for this work should be used optimally throughout the year. PM also expects that the advancement of the Union Budget date would lead to further upgrading in performance," told a press statement.

Prime Minister Modi was informed of the speedy resolution of complaints received on the 'Meri Sadak App.' He called for the full analysis of the complaints so that well-timed remedial measures are started wherever mandatory.

Reviewing the progress towards the roadmap to deliver one crore houses in the rural areas by 2019.

"The positive impact of housing on the lives of the beneficiaries should be rightfully examined, and the spotlight should be on improving their quality of life," quoted Prime Minister Modi.

 

Evaluating the coal sector, the Prime Minister called for renewed efforts towards underground mining and coal gasification, through an infusion of most modern technology inputs.
