NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sympathies to the victims of an accident in Odisha's Ganjam district on Wednesday. The Prime Minister also wished for a speedy recovery for those injured in the accident.
"I am heartbroken about the deaths caused by a horrific tragedy in Odisha's Ganjam district. My thoughts are with the grieving families at this awful hour. I hope that those who have been injured recover fast,  the Prime Minister's Office tweeted today.

A traffic accident near the Durgaprasad area in Ganjam district late Tuesday night killed at least six visitors and critically injured numerous others. "Six persons were killed and nearly 40 injured after a bus overturned near Kalinga Ghat in Ganjam last night," said Pradhan, a fire official who was present at the scene. "West Bengal tourists were returning from Daringbadi. It was most likely caused by brake failure "According to the fire officer. 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took notice of the tragedy and tweeted, "Our administration is working with Odisha officials to ensure a prompt postmortem, treatment, and return of the deceased. A high-level team is being rushed to Odisha, led by the Principal Secretary for Disaster Management and MLA Udaynarayanpur."
