New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the recent deaths of patients due to fire in a hospital in Rajkot. He has tweeted for this by the Prime Minister's Office. CM Shri @vijayrupanibjp has expressed grief over the incident of fire at Shivanand COVID Hospital in Rajkot. CM has ordered a probe into the incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs.4 lakh each to the family of deceased.

A fire broke out in the Shivanand Coronavirus Hospital in Rajkot last Thursday night. There were reports of five deaths due to fire. There was also information about another death this morning. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also expressed grief after the incident. Apart from expressing grief, he has given orders to investigate this incident. According to the information received, no one has yet been able to know the cause of the fire here.
There are also reports that an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakh has been announced by the Gujarat government to the family of each deceased. One of the officials who extinguished the fire at Covid-19 hospital has said in his statement that the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.
