New Delhi: On the occasion of India's 73rd Republic Day on January 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema for his congratulations. "Thank you for your greetings, President @HHichilema! The Republic of Zambia is a close friend of India, and the two countries have a strong development partnership "PM Modi sent out a tweet.

The Zambian President expressed his greetings and said he joined the people of India in commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution and the founding of their Republic. In a tweet, Hakainde Hichilema stated, "We join @narendramodi and the people of India in celebrating 73 years since the adoption of the Indian Constitution and the establishment of their Republic."

This year's celebrations are extra noteworthy because it is the 75th anniversary of India's independence, and it is being commemorated as "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" across the country. The Indian Ministry of Defence has planned a variety of new events for the main parade on Rajpath in New Delhi on January 26 and the 'Beating the Retreat' celebration at Vijay Chowk on January 29 to commemorate the anniversary.
