PM Modi gave the message to 'Hotel Motel Patel Wallas' in the US

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a special message to the Gujarati community living in foreign, popularly known as 'Hotel Motel Patel Wallas'. Modi said that they can propagate India as a tourist destination among his guests by playing slides about India on TV in their hotels. Addressing the Saurashtra Patel cultural society of America, through video conferencing, Modi has appealed to the Overseas Indians to inspire five foreign families to visit India to promote tourism. 

Modi Said, "You are known as Hotel Motel Patel. Whenever a guest comes to your hotel or motel, why do not you run a few slides about India on TV. When they see the TV, they will be able to see what India actually is." The Patel community, originally from Gujarat, is mainly in the motel business in the US. In an article of the prestigious Smithsonian magazine in 2014, it was stated that in the US, approximately half the owners are Americans of Indian origin and 70% of them are Patel. 

Modi told the them that when the country is on the path of rapid progress, and they should also contribute. He said, "Inspire at least five non-Indian families to travel to India. If you do not invest a rupee in India and want to serve India, then it will be a great service for the country."

Modi said that this is the year of Kumbh Mela and indigenous Indians can inspire people to join. He said that in the field of tourism India has plenty of things to offer. Modi said that overseas Indians have contributed a lot in combating the forces of their neighborhood which are bent on defaming India.
