NEW DELHI: On Doctors' Day July 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Doctors in New Delhi and recognised their crucial contribution in saving lives and making the planet healthier.

He wrote in a tweet, "Doctors Day greetings to all hardworking doctors who play a key role in saving lives and making our planet healthier." 

Prime Minister Modi also uploaded a brief video praising doctors for their contribution to lifesaving.
 

 

ABOUT DOCTORS DAY: Every year on July 1, India celebrates National Doctor's Day to show appreciation for the nation's dedicated medical professionals. Given that doctors and other healthcare professionals are working around the clock to combat the widespread COVID-19 pandemic and other serious health issues and fatal diseases, National Doctors Day 2022 will also be of particular relevance.

National Doctors' Day 2022 recognises their invaluable services and important contribution to society's well-being. On the anniversary of the birth of renowned doctor, freedom warrior, academic, and politician Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, India observes Doctor's Day. The B.C. Roy National Award was created by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in his honor to recognize the eminent people in the field of medicine.
