PM Modi hits out at Congress in Ghazipur, UP, says 'Party's farmer loan waiver promise was a lollypop'

 New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a dig at grand old Congress party during his public meeting in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur. He lashed out on Rahul Gandhi led Congress and  said Congress has mislead the farmers in Karnataka. He also asserted that the party made  very big promises to the farmers but didn’t carry out even one percent of it.

“Congress promised lakhs of farmers of waving off their loans, but benefited only 800 farmers, ” PM Modi was quoted by ABP news as asserting.

He further stated that Congress deceived the farmers and took away all the votes. He also said that Congress’ loan waver is just a “lollypop” and “deceit”. PM also hailed his government for the work done by it in Purvanchal in his four years tenure.

He wooing the voters asserted “your guard has been protecting you loyally, and has made the nights of thieves sleepless.”

His statement came after party faced a massive beat by Congress in recent Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. It is being considered that Congress had been able to pull farmers votes with promises of loan waiver which became the cause behind its win.
