I am confident that the university will continue to touch new heights of excellence in times to come. In normal times, the celebration would have definitely been bigger. If it had not been a global pandemic, I would have loved to be with you all in Bengaluru to mark this special day."

In his statement, PM Narendra Modi said that "Behind this battle of India against Corona is the hard work of the medical community and our Corona warriors. In fact, the doctors and medical staff are soldiers, without the uniform of any soldier. At such a time, the world is looking at our doctors, nurses, medical staff and the scientific community with hope and gratitude. The world wants both 'care' and 'cure' from you. Viruses can be an invisible enemy. But our warriors, health workers are invincible. In the battle of invisible versus invincible, our health workers are sure to win."

During the last six years, we have given top priority to reforms in health and medical education in India. We are working on four pillars broadly".
